On 11th March, Cheffins staff took part in the annual Daffodil Day at Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
An annual initiative, organised by the Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT), this springtime event saw thousands bunches of daffodils given out to NHS staff.
Ahead of the event, Cheffins staff bunched and wrapped daffodils and attached thank you cards, as well as giving them out at the Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust HQ, the main reception and the eye clinic to staff and volunteers at the hospital.
Sarah Bush, Head of Residential at Cheffins, said: “We were delighted to take part in this wonderful event which gave us the opportunity to thank all the staff at the hospital for their tireless work and dedication as part of the NHS. This is just one of many events we have supported at Addenbrooke’s as part of our longstanding relationship with ACT. Last year, as part of Cheffins’ 200-year anniversary, we raised some £212,000 for the new Cambridge Children’s Hospital, and we look forward to continuing our charitable work for the hospital over the coming months. We encourage our staff to take part in as many volunteering opportunities as possible, as part of our commitment to supporting the local community in which we operate.”
Fundraising activities throughout 2025 included the sale of the Cheffins Charity Tractor, which alone raised over £80,000, an online charity auction featuring exclusive experiences, sponsorship of the Saffron Walden Carnival, staff participation in the Three Peaks Challenge, Cambridge Half Marathon, skydives, bake sales, rounders tournaments and the Cheffins Cycle Ride among many others.
