Cheffins has completed a double act of deals on behalf of world-leading life sciences developer, BioMed Realty at the newest lab building at Babraham Research Campus, underlining continued occupier demand for high-quality laboratory accommodation in the Cambridge cluster.

TRIMTECH Therapeutics has taken 5,258 sqft of fitted accommodation on the first floor. The biotech company, led by CEO Nicki Thompson, which works on the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, secured $31 million-worth of seed funding in March 2025 which supported the further development of the company.

In a second deal, Tagomics has taken 5,269 sqft in the neighbouring suite. Tagomics, a pioneering biomarker discovery and diagnostics company, was co-founded by Dr Jack Kennefick and Dr Robert Neely in 2020.

Will Brown, Director at Cheffins Commercial Department and who oversaw the transactions said: “These lettings demonstrate the resilience of the Cambridge life sciences property market. Despite challenging macro-economic and political headwinds in the past 18 months or so, it shows that demand remains for fitted, bespoke laboratory space in established locations. It has been great to maintain the rental tone and welcome two new occupiers into BioMed’s portfolio.”

Carl Williams from BioMed Realty said: “We are delighted to offer a warm welcome to Trimtech and Tagomics to the BioMed portfolio. They join as neighbours to Insmed and Mosaic in the same building. The collaborative approach between our new customers, BioMed and Cheffins has been great to see, and we wish them continued success in spearheading their science.”

Both tenants are expected to be operational in the building soon.

Cheffins acted as sole agents for BioMed Realty.
